Was unexpectedly surprised by something really nice at work. Also, got to send off one of my engineers as he heads to retirement. He’s relatively young, in good health and going to be close to his grandkids. Pretty awesome. Enjoying a too stiff whiskey and Coke.

A too-stiff whiskey and Coke? Why not just skip the Coke?
As for early retirement, I know a guy who joined the Navy at 18, went submarine, did his time and retired with a full pension at 40. Now he’s some sort of security consultant over in Iraq or Afghanistan, making serious money, I would imagine.
Love that picture, btw.

A too stiff whiskey and coke is a great way to end a good day. I’m having the cigar for you.

GIS said it was a long exposure as one of the aircraft pulled in. I always thought the 880s special tail paint was cool.
As far as the Coke? Gotta slum a bit. Goes good with pizza too.

What are you smoking?

Tatuaje Reserva. Just finished.

You’re in Austin right? If you ever want to have a cigar let me know. It’s hard to find good people to smoke with. And talk or not talk. Both are great.

You replied to yourself? Yes, I’m in Austin. Never had a Tatuaje Reserva. How was it? I’m a pretty regular smoker (meaning that I smoke too many) and my usual smoke is a Punch London Club maduro. Pretty tasty, can be done in 30-45 minutes, and not too expensive.

Wow, I did manage to reply to myself. Thanks sooo much for helping me realize it. I worked at Heroes and Legacies for about 5 years and got hooked on Nicaraguan, as opposed to Dominican or Honduran, tobacco. I just have 1 or 2 week right now. Come to think about it, I think I’ll have another.

I have one or two a day. I went into Heroes and Legacies at the Arboretum a few years ago (at least I think that’s what it was) and then walked out because the prices were ridiculous. I shop at Spec’s now. Good humidor, good prices.

Many recommends, if you have an hour or so

Higher prices yes, but it’s one of those situations where bigger companies put mom and pop places out of business. There’s just no way to compete, based on prices anyway. I don’t work there anymore, but still go for things I can’t find at Specs.

Also, I never get tired of this.
